The 17th edition of the International Children's Film Festival (ICFF) will be held in Hyderabad from November 14, Children’s Day according to state minister for information and public relations DK Aruna.
Reviewing a high-level meeting with the ICFF members led by the International Children's Film Society chairperson Nandita Das at the state secretariat here on Tuesday, the minister said around 100 films would be screened during the four-day festival.
“Being held in Hyderabad for the ninth time, the latest edition of the festival will see the participation of children representing 40 countries. The event will showcase films directed by children, especially those from China,” Aruna stated in a press release.
On a side note, for portraying the plight of voiceless women authentically through cinema, critically acclaimed actress-director Nandita Das has become the first Indian to have been inducted into the Hall of Fame by the International Women`s Forum (IWF).
Known as the `thinking man`s actress`, the 41-year-old was admitted to the elite group at Washington DC`s historic National Building Museum on Oct 28th, 2011, a release said here.
