Hyderabad: Irrespective of rain or wind, several localities under the IT corridor have been witnessing power cuts at night for the past 15 days due to the negligence of GHMC staff and private building construction workers.

Following heavy rains and winds last month the GHMC has taken up clearance of uprooted trees and electric poles. During the maintenance works, some underground cables of NCC Urban feeder of Kothaguda sub-station were damaged. This affected Gachibowli PJR Nagar, New PJR Nagar, Diamond Hills, Cyber Hills and other localities. A. Suresh, a resident of  New PJR Nagar, said all, “Power cuts last from around 10 pm to 1 am.” Kothaguda sub-station Assistant Engineer D. Sammaiah said the problem will be resolved within a day.
