Mr.Rao is 35 years old commerce graduate with a post-graduation in Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He started his career with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Mumbai in the Management Consultancy Division. During his three-year tenure with TCS, Mr.Rao acquired hands-on experience in system design and analysis besides managing projects.

He worked on assignments in the areas of Materials Management, Financial Management, Production Planning and Control, Human Resources Management and Strategic Planning. After TCS, Mr. Rao spent one year with a Pharmaceutical exports company in Mumbai as an Executive Assistant to the Managing Director. During this period, Mr.Rao gained experience of handling the entire operations of an export unit being the head of the Indian Operations. In 1995, Mr. Rao joined Core Healthcare Limited (CHL) - a pharmaceutical company based in Ahmedabad as Head of Corporate Planning, Business Process Reengineering and Total Quality Management. Having successfully completed his assignments, Mr. Rao was promoted to the position of Executive Director of a subsidiary company of CHL and managed all the Indian operations of the company, which has 42 branches spread over the country. During the last one year of his tenure with CHL group, Mr. Rao held the additional portfolio of Vice President (IT) responsible for the Information Technology Function of the entire group. As part of this responsibility, Mr. Rao was instrumental in implementing a Thin-client network with over 150 nodes- the first and the largest network of its kind in the entire country.

Mr.Rao joined VMF Soft Tech LTd,. in 1999 to spearhead its Indian operations responsible for the expansion of its Software Development center based in Ahmedabad. Within one year, the center emerged as a leading software Provider in the State of Gujarat, India with staff strength increasing from 12 to 65. The core strengths of the company lay in the design and development of enterprise systems using client-server and web technologies. The center was empaneled by the IT Departments of the State Government. The center bagged the prestigious project of computerization of Alang Ship Yard - the largest ship-breaking yard in the country during this period. The process of ISO 9000 certification was started and the company managed to achieve the final certification within 8 months. Mr. Rao Shifted to Hyderabad in the year 2000 to take on additional responsibilities of the VMF group and head a new venture of the company. In October 2000, Mr. Rao was appointed as a Director, in charge of the Hyderabad operation by the Profinish group based at Mumbai. The company was primarily engaged in the business of HR consulting and Software Development. Mr.Rao visited USA and Singapore for business development and raising finance for the company. In February 2001, the company received the first round of funding from the US and acquired a leading company in Mumbai, which provides kiosk-based interactve solutions

In July 2001, Mr. Rao joined Bartronics India Limited primarily to establish and lead the Marketing Function. Soon, Mr.Rao was promoted as the Chief Operating Officer looking after the entire operations of the company.
