Namdhari Surat Singh Malhotra elected Lions District Governor
City’s well known event organiser Namdhari Surat Singh Malhotra elected as Lions
District Governor of District 324-C2 of the International Associations of Lions
Clubs in the just concluded 29th Annual Convention of the oldest Lions District
of the city. Lions Surat Singh Malhotra will be formally installed as Governor on
2nd July at Sydney in Australia. Namdhari Surat Singh Malhotra who joined Lionism
in 1978 is the first Namdhari Sikh to have become Lions Governor in the country.
During his Governorship in the year 2010 and 2011, he would like the Lions of his
district covering Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy District, Mahboobnagar, Raichur and Gulbarga
in Karnataka to focus on service activities which make difference to the lives of
the lower strata of the society.
The theme of the year would be ‘Service with Grace’.
During the next twelve months he has charted out various activities which include
a Musical Nite, a Kavi Sammelan, Mega Musical Nite etc.

Malhotra is currently is the member of Lions Club of Neo Elite. He received many
awards and rewards in professional and community service. Notable among them is
appreciation letter for his excellent services by the then U.S. President George
W. Bush during his visit to Indian School of Business at Hyderabad along with his
wife Laura.
Namdhari Surat Singh Malhotra is widely travelled to USA, China, Mauritius,
Dubai, Pakistan, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Hong Kong
and Nepal. His entire family members are the members of lions family too.
