A fairly nascent addition has been the ownership of Deccan Chargers, the Indian Premier League cricket team which won the IPL trophy for the 2009 season. Under the Deccan Chargers banner is run year-round sports activities in schools and colleges to promote

sports and find talent. Ten years back, Deccan Chronicle was positioned at an undistinguished No. 10 in the roster of top 10 most-read English newspapers in the country. Today, we are front runners down south and in the top league nationally.
