Hayath Bakshi Begum was popularly known as Ma Saheba (Reverent Mother). She was the only daughter of the fifth king Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah and married his nephew who became the sixth king ,Sultan Muhammad Qutb Shah VI. He was succeeded by his son Abdullah Quli Qutb Shah VII. Thus Hayath Bakshi Begum was the daughter of the fifth king, the wife of the sixth and mother of the seventh. She was a political guide and played a prominent part during the reign of the three Qutb Shahi kings, namely Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, Sultan Muhammad Qutb Shah and AbdulLah Qutb Shah.
It is said that the cultural influence of the time, together with special
care and training that she had received as being the only daughter of the king, contributed largely to her greatness.
She died in the year 1666 at the age of 76. Ma Saheb Tank, Hussaini
Alam, Bibi Ka Chashma, Langar, Hayath Nagar Mosque and Hayath Nagar village recall the memory of the great lady.
The splendid mosque adjacent to her tomb at Golconda is known as
the “The great mosque of the Golconda tombs”.
