Jamay-Masjid

Near Charminar, to the north-east, Stands the first mosque built in Hyderabad, Jamay Masjid. It was built in 1598 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah after the construction of Charminar. Attached to this mosque were a school, a guest house and a turkish bath. The ruins of the bath are still in evidence. Sikander Jah (AsafJah III) extensively renovated Jamay Masjid. It is a good example of the Qutb Shahi style of architecture which combines the Indo-Perian and South Indian styles
