The hillock named after Mir Mahmood Saheb is situated about 10
km.. from Hyderabad on the way to Mir Alam Tank.
Syed Shah Aminuddin Hussain alias Mir Mahmood, who came to Hyderabad from Najaf, during the reign of Sultan Abdullah Qutb Shah, is buried on this hillock., He is said to have lived here and though he had no known means of livelihood, he did not accept help from anyone. On the other hand, he built several buildings on the hillock and paid the labourers well. Hence, it was the general belief that he was a saint and had supernatural means of income. Although the exact date of his demise is not known, the Mujawars (keepers of the tomb) observe his Urs on the 11th and 12th of Jamadiul Awal. The graves of Shamsuddin alias Sham Maula, who lived during the reign of Asaf Jab I, and his grandson Syed Shah Au Raza Hussaini, who was renowned for performing miracles during Asaf Jab Ii’s reign, along with other members of his family, are also found on the hillock.
