Madanna came from a learned family of Hanamkonda and it appears that in the past the family was closely associated with the Golconda rulers. Madanna served the kingdom with a broad outlook. He was appointed as “Peshkar” during the reign of Abdullah Qutb Shah and later promoted to the prestigious post of Diwan (1674-1686). In the past, the post of Diwan was always held by eminent personaLities of Persia, and therefore the appointment of Madanna as a Diwan during the reign of Abul Hasan was a historical event of great significance.
Madanna was killed by conspirators along with his brother Akanna. Akanna was the younger brother of Madanna and acted as his
secretary when Madanna assumed charge as Diwan
