His tomb is marked by grandeur and perfect form when compared to those of his ancestors. It is of black granite with five decreasing plinths all inscribed with ‘ayaths’ (verses) from the Holy Quran. The platform is 82 metres square but the scheme of construction is the same as that of the other arcades with seven-pointed arches and an enclosing verandah. The quadrangular main hall is decorated with five false arches and crowned by balustrades.

Mirza Nizamuddin Ahmed was the eldest son-in-law of Sultan
Abdullah Qutb Shah. After the death of Sultan Abdullah there was civil war between Mirza Nizamuddin and Abul Hasan Tana Shah for the succession to the throne. Mirza Nizamuddin lost the battle, was imprisoned in 1674 and died in jail during the same year. The construction of his tomb is incomplete. The tomb lies to the left of the main gateway.
