This is a rectangular hail with a central 12-faceted circular platform with 12 radiating spokes in the shape of a wheel that symbolizes time. The dead bodies of the kings and nobles were brought to this mortuary for their last ceremonial baths. They were placed on the platform and after the ceremonies were taken to the tombs for interment . Through pipelines and cisterns, this mortuary was supplied with hot and cold water.
As Shah Rocco observed: “It is impossible not to feel the appeal of the associations that must have centred round this spot, the end of insurgent life, the legacy of faith and hope to those left behind to pray with tenser voice for consolation from the sorrows of today and comfort for the uncertainties of tomorrow.”
