The Quit India Movement,or the Aug Movement (August Kranti) was a civil disobedience
movement launched in Indian in Aug 1942 in reaction to Mohandas Gandhi's call for
'Satyagraha' (independence). The All-India The Congress Committee announced a huge
demonstration challenging what Gandhi known as "an orderly British withdrawal" from
India. The call for identified, but inactive level of resistance seems to be in
his call to Do or Die, released on 8 Aug at the Gowalia Container Maidan in Mumbai
on year 1942.
