Hyderabad: Buoyed
by its victory in Assam Assembly elections, the BJP has turned it focus
on other states with the mission of becoming an alternative in the
states with both Congress and non-Congress governments, including TS.
As part of this mission, BJP national president Amit Shah will on Sunday
address a especially convened meeting of BJP leaders near the RGI
airport. TS BJP leaders said that this meeting is not only a part of the
party's celebrations of its two-year rule at the Centre, but has been
convened to draw plans to emerge as political alternative to the TRS in
TS.
Amit Shah is coming especially for this meeting, and he will leave
immediately after, said a BJP leader. Saudhan Singh, an RSS man who was
the BJP’s strategist for the elections in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and
Madhya Pradesh, was recently appointed the party’s in-charge for TS, in
addition to Krishna Das and Union minister Hansraj Gangaram. Considered a
master strategist, Saudhan Singh will draw up plans on the lines of the
strategy that helped the BJP win the elections in Assam.
“Different strategies were adopted in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and
Assam. ,” BJP MLA said. 'Hitherto there was no special focus on
Telangana, except reiterating the party’s commitment to become a
political alternative, but now Amit Shah has decided to extend special
support and resources to Telangana as part of the mission,” a
spokesperson of the BJP’s state unit told DC on Friday. The party aims
to induct new blood into the party, including providing an alternative
platform for the TD and Congress; it will not be like the old BJP where
there were restrictions on entry of leaders from other political
parties.
“It is common knowledge that the Central government will proceed fast
in the next three years in implementing various schemes in order to
gain a positive feeling before the 2019 elections,” the BJP leader said.
He said the main advantage for the BJP would be marginalisation of the
TD, YSR Congress, Left parties and even the Congress in TS.
